About Me

Started my career in Acting then became an entrepreneur trading in Handmade leather goods from Spain and then beautiful textiles from Indonesia at our gallery at Camden Lock.; Currently a tour guide with Fat Tire tours in Central London essentially retired but love my work. I have an international OK racing dinghy which I sail on the Thames at Cookham.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A little more time on my hands . I thought it would be nice meet up with fellow travel lovers from around the world and share my love of London as well as finding nice places to stay elsewhere, I have always found that if you meet or work with people, your travel experience is so much richer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Every year I go to the Proms at the Albert Hall, mainly Classical, but I like World Music and Jazz too. Enjoy theatre, (done lots of Shakespeare, love it!) and Movies as you might expect. I take an interest in Politics and world affairs; my principle reading at the moment. I would choose "Sailing around the world" by Joshua Slocombe as a favourite book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived the World International OK sailing championships in Wakatere Bay New Zealand.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a veteran solo traveler I like to immerse myself in Local culture and history and I have Forty years experience of doing the same in London but you never stop learning, and how better to see the world than through the eyes of another?

What I Can Share with Hosts

My flat is well located and there is a futon which pulls out in the living room. nothing fancy but very comfortable with a nice kitchen and bathroom. I can also furnish you with lots of local knowledge. WiFi available.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain
