Overview
About Me
My name is Andrew and I like a lot of things. I love bicycles, books, good beer, crazy adventures, and most of all spending time with new people in bizarre situations. I've been hiking on two continents, made friends on 6, and learned that the most important thing is to be good at joking around.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Two reasons - couch-surfers have good stories and I'm a teacher who can't afford sterile hotels every night. I'd rather spend my money in the town I'm visiting with some new friends.
Interests
I've worked at bicycle shops for about 7 years,
- books
- recipes
- beer
- hiking
- biology
- teaching
Music, Movies, and Books
Alt-J all the way. I'm not overly concerned about listening to the "best" - just whatever is enjoyable for that particular mood. I love movies and love having themed marathons (Swayze, Post-Apocalyptic, whatever!).
I studied American Literature in college but am also pretty interested by Japanese novels and non-fiction of all types.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My senior year of college I decided to take a hiking trip down to Patagonia over winter break. I booked my flight and found a couple hostels on the internet, but largely lived off the kindness of strangers who gladly offered to translate, give directions, and have great conversations with me. The three weeks I spent in Chile were phenomenal and I'd love to show you pictures sometime.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a high school biology teacher, but in general pride myself on some pretty great stories and a few good recipes. With a little conversation I'm sure I can learn something from you and hopefully teach you something!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, recipes, repair skills, and some jokes.
