About Me

Still sorting it out, happy, honest, up-front straight talkin' California Kid

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Don't know when or how it happened, just got tired of being a small town guy. Planned on traveling early and often, had a good jump through college, making up for lost time now in my late twenties.

Interests

All things outdoors, definitely pulled to the wide open spaces more than most. Enjoy anything that gets the blood pumping and the adrenaline going, whatever you do in your neighborhood for adventure really.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mood determines music for me, but the right music will change my mood. I like everything when it fits the situation. Otis Redding when a cool breeze is blowing through a bay window, okay bad example I'll always listen to Otis Redding. Jazz has it's place if I'm doing paperwork, writing or relaxing. Italian Opera in the kitchen. Hard Rock, Metal and Hip Hop for working out and spending time with friends. Rap if that's what the pretty girl who wants to dance is in to... Reggae, Skaa, Indie, Jam bands all have their merits.

I am a sucker for a good action flick, but winding down I can settle into a well directed art piece. Bill Murray is my idol.

Avid reader, 2-5 books a week if time is available, waiting in bustops and airports. Hemingway, Faulkner, London and Steinbeck are pillars of American Lit. Anything by Jon Krakauer, Matt Taibbi and Michael Lewis. I like all the adventure and explorer novels and accounts from the 19th Century. Been on the Song of Ice and Fire ride for 15 years now, love the absurd, crave intelligent sci-fi but usually the left hemisphere wins out at the bookstore and I read Bios and Contemporary Non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

You'd have to ask around, if I did it, couldn't have been all that amazing, right?

Teach, Learn, Share

Must say I am a jack of all trades and the master of none. Feel I have a thought to contribute in just about any line of thinking, usually more interested in the storyteller than the story. Just happy to be on the road meeting new friends and influencing people as best I can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A few great meals in the repertoire: breakfasts, lunches and dinners, enjoy a good chat, happy to do some work around the house, heavy lifting, general handyman work and that sort of thing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Virgin Islands, British

Countries I’ve Lived In
