About Me
Hi!
I'm a South African student looking to graduate at the end of the year. I'm just as at home reading a book on the couch as I am in the mountains hiking and have lately found myself spending a LOT of time in the cold Atlantic ocean in the mornings, year-round (usually followed by coffee).
I love to cook simple, delicious meals to share. I get excited about art, architecture and design, so when traveling I tend to be geeking out on history, going to museums and galleries. Bodies of water are also at risk.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a late adopter, even though I've traveled a fair amount. Looking for alternative ways of meeting people and experiencing lifeworlds.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music, all sorts: jazz, some sludgier metal, have been DJing a bit lately: I try to get conga heavy dance music which can often give the EDM a bit of a latin feel.
Movies, I really like black and white. Embrace of the Serpent, The Lighthouse. I enjoy animated films, Song of The Sea, all Studio Ghibli stuff. Open minded but I do like movies that take a bit of work.
Books: oof. I am a huge Salman Rushdie fan. I prefer maximalist over minimalist writing but I do love Borges. Ursula Le Guin is cool! Otherwise, a lot of my reading is academic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Formed an art collective with some good friends and built 4 large scale (4mx6mx6m) bamboo and reed sculptures for South Africa's regional Burningman event, Afrikaburn!
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been told I'm a good conversationalist, I have a wide variety of interests. Always looking to learn. As I've said, I love to cook so if you'd like, the sharing would be food!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, books, how to paint with oils(?).
