Overview
About Me
Hi!
My name is Andrew Eckels. I'm 26 years old and moving to Denver CO. I love outdoor adventures, particularly backcountry skiing, and connecting with new and interesting people. I'm a very warm and easygoing person who gets along with most people I meet and enjoy the company of strangers and friends alike.
I've been working professionally as a community/political organizer for the last 5 years and am passionate about collectively fighting to make the world a more just and equitable place, and doing everything we can to prevent the worst effects of climate change.
I enjoy conversations around these topics, but also totally fine if politics aren't your thing or are a subject you prefer to avoid.
I love to read fiction and non fiction and discover new music.
I'm clean and respectful and appreciate direct communication and healthy boundary setting.
LBGTQ friendly and respectful of peoples' pronouns.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just took a job with the Sunrise Movement, in Denver CO and am about to move to Denver for the year.
I'm looking for housing currently but want to find a good fit in person. My plan is to fly into Denver in early January and couch surf from the 4th to the 20th while I work and look for housing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Worked for four years with Familias Unidas por la Justicia, an independent farmworker union that won the second ever union contract for farmworkers in WA state. In the final year of the struggle we organized a month long tour of the West Coast with leaders of the union to promote the boycott of Driscoll's berries they were calling for.
