The first thing you'll notice about me is that I'm pretty tall, 6'6" (198cm) and that I'm almost always smiling. I work with college students, so It's my job to be approachable and at least reasonably put-together.

I love to travel, and I've found that my favorite moments in travel come from the times that I've formed meaningful connections with locals, which is what brought me to Couchsurfing. I'm very easy going and am happy to sleep on the floor. I just need a safe, friendly enviornment. I'll do my best to be a considerate guest and plan to off you something in thanks, just let me know what you'd appreciate: beer? wine? dinner?

Between June and November of 2015 I hiked 2,800 miles between Canada and Mexico on the Continental Divide Trail. I hiked about 25 miles a day down the Rocky Mountains, saw some incredible scenery, and met some truly wonderful people. This summer I am continuing my Rocky Mountain hike from the US/Canada border and heading north!

Between January and April of 2016, I worked on a program called Semester at Sea - it's a university-on-a-ship and we have sailed from California, stopping in ports in 10 different countries along the way.

I enjoy: Backpacking, Running, Rowing (although it's been a few years), and generally spending time outside. I'm not a heavy drinker, but I do enjoy drinking and am going to want to try all the local favorites while I'm in town (mostly a beer person, but I also like wine).
