About Me
May 2019: I'll be taking an indefinite leave from couchsurfing since I'll be spending most of my free time making my passion project (https://www.facebook.com/elnidocatsanctuary) a reality. Leaving my profile as "Maybe Accepting" so I still come out in search results and I'll still always be willing to help you all out with your trips (though I won't be able to host you anytime soon I'm so sorry).
Friends from Uruguay started a fundraiser for the establishment of the cat sanctuary recently (https://gogetfunding.com/elnidocatsanctuary/) and it would mean the world to me if you could support it by donating or sharing it to people who might be interested in supporting.
For context, there are 0 vet clinics and 0 animal shelters in El Nido. For any sort of professional help for animals you'll have to travel 5 hours to Puerto Princesa, it's crazy.
The Cat Sanctuary once established will definitely have space dedicated for couchsurfers so maybe in a year or two my doors will be open to all again. Thank you so much for taking your time to read this. Safe travels!

April 2018: Hi! I've been inactive for the past half year but I left my availability as "Maybe Accepting Guests" so my response rate has sank really really low though I used to reply to every single message. I'm not sure if I'll be able to host anytime soon but I decided not to change my availability just so my profile still shows up in searches since there are just a few active hosts in El Nido, and maybe I can help you with any other aspects of your trip to El Nido. Feel free to drop a message or ask any questions!
**I'll be away for most of the months of April and May because the school year is ending and will resume in June. There will be a few days that I will be in the area so still feel free to send requests just in case. Don't hesitate to message regarding any concerns for your trip, I'll try my best to assist in whatever way I can.**
23 years old. I grew up in Baguio, finished highschool in Ilocos, took up my undergraduate degree on Applied Physics with Applied Computer Systems in Manila, and currently a secondary education teacher in El Nido Palawan.
I currently have 9 cats (I don't frequently update this so this number is likely to change haha) with varying ages but they're all still currently less than a year old. Though I also love dogs.
I generally really enjoy sports, I'm not exactly great at them but I'm always willing to try and learn. I have a greater affinity to running though, followed by basketball, volleyball, and frisbee.
I love being outdoors. I still prefer the green of forests and mountains, but being in El Nido for a few years I've really learned to love the water. I used to really fear drowning and the deep, I still do kind of but not as much anymore. I was even able to take a beginner freediving course despite my fear so yay!
Been taking an interest in learning more about music and playing instruments the past years as well. I'm getting pretty decent playing a guitar (mostly been trying to learn fingertsyle) and recently I've also been learning how to play the keyboard. I do want to learn music theory, and try to better understand and appreciate jazz but I haven't really been able to give it that much time yet.
I really enjoy reading, at some point I learned to love poetry (both written, and spoken word)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been living in El Nido for over 2 years now and hopefully I'll be able to help others maximize their time here and make the most of their stay.
So far Couchsurfing has been an amazing experience. I've met so many great people who are inspiring in their own ways, and through hosting them I've also been able to learn more about and better appreciate the place I live in, as well as places I hopefully will be able to visit as well.

Couchsurfing really is one of the best ways to have a richer and more meaningful stay in another country. A lot of intangibles that come out of interacting with like minded locals that really just make the experience all that more memorable and meaningful.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm the kind of person who has a bit of difficulty determining favorites buuut:
Music -- It really depends on my mood. I listen to anything playing on the radio and I enjoy learning more about other genres. The past few years though I've found myself more inclined to listening to local bands (a little bit of the indie scene as well), jazz, musicals, and quite a bit of indie folk.
Books -- I was a voracious reader up until highschool and I read mostly anything, but I read less and less during college because I had to focus on my degree. Been trying to regain that habit, and though I think it's a bit weird I've been a bit more drawn to the YA genre recently, it's really more diverse than a lot of people assume.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to share whatever I have but unfortunately it's not much. I will do my best to help clean and maintain their homes if they would want it. I can help around with chores and whatever needs to be done.
