About Me

My name is Andrew. I eat. I run. I enjoy learning new languages and have recently taken an interest in computer languages and have curiosity in the field of software. Beer is good. And I tend to compulsively track my daily activities. I grew up in San Diego, CA but have lived in many places, moving around with my family constantly as my father would relocate for work. I currently have a rigid fitness schedule and don't have the lifestyle anymore to just go travel out on a limb, so finding a reason to go places, doing distance races, for example, has given me the flexibility I need to maintain a well-balanced work/play life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I honestly just want some new adventure in my life, and it seems desirable to run around and explore some new places in the world with other runners and active people that want to live a healthy, interesting life.

Interests

I have an innate love for languages and meeting international people with more expansive outlooks. Exercise and fitness takes it's seat as a priority in my life, and I absolutely believe it is necessary to live a balanced, healthy and happy life. My main sport is distance running, but I also enjoy strength training, gymnastics, cycling, and hiking or trail running. I tend to compose jingles and piano melodies. I actually enjoy organizing. And of course, don't forget the beer. I'm a cerevisaphile of sorts and can sometimes lean on the side of a beer snob, but I don't discriminate against any beer, since there is a time and place for every style. Cheers!

Music, Movies, and Books

Spotify playlists save me on this section. I more listen to podcasts than read books. And I'm flexible with movies. These sections are so cookie cutter. Everything depends on mood, vibes, and the given situation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a week taking car services and buses from the city I lived in Germany, vagabonding through Prague and Slovakia, and eventually landing in Budapest, a beauty to behold, rich in history, cultural exchanges, and nightlife, all while I should have been studying for my final exams as an exchange student...I still graduated!

I have run 2 half marathons:
- Snake River 2018: 1:25:12
- Snake River 2019: 1:22:59

I have run 3 marathons and have a lifelong goal of completing one in each of the 50 states...Portland is next on the list:
- Windermere: 3:04:06
- Coeur d'Alene: 2:51:33 (official but course was a half mile short due to public tampering)
- Missoula: 2:54:36

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Slovakia

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany
