Kia ora! I'm Andrew - a 27 year old New Zealander. In New Zealand I am a playwright/theatremaker and teacher, also working stints as a waiter. I am heading overseas to travel, and to eventually study to teach English second language (in Istanbul). I am overseas indefinitely, so is quite an exhilarating opening of a new chapter in my life.

I am travelling the USA first, followed by a brief stint in England/Scotland, followed by Germany, Czech Republic, the Balkan region, then Turkey. I will probably continue onwards to Georgia/Armenia after study.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is the beginning of a very long trip, so I'd like to have the company and conversation of some locals along the way! Am happy to contribute however I can around the house - especially to cook you some food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've written four plays, one of which was an hour and a half solo show, which culminated in me leading the audience from the theatre to the seaside, and proceeding to jump into the sea.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Although I am a bit out of practise from unusual work hours, I love to cook, and would be really keen to try and recreate some of the dishes from the restaurants I have worked at with your local ingredients - fish belly anyone?
