Overview
About Me
I am passionate about making the world a better place and reaching my fullest potential as a human (or post-human once the robots take over). Consequently I love learning as much as I can about the world, enjoying new experiences and meeting new people. And hopefully I can have a lot of fun along the way too!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm so excited about the concept of easily meeting diverse people that can become friends and personal travel advisors! I don't have the capacity to host at the moment but look forward to sharing my own travel tips for the various places I've lived in and visited.
Interests
I love learning new things about pretty much any topic (sports being one big exception haha). I'm passionate about environmental protection and I frequently volunteer with local activist groups. I'm also very interested in structuring economic, social and political environments that eliminate the socio-economic barriers of modern society, as well as allowing all individuals to reach their highest potential.
My hobbies include art (drawing, painting, LEGO's, crafts, cooking, web design, playing guitar), spending time in nature (hiking, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding), and listening to inspiring speakers (TED talks, spiritual leaders). I also love pondering the imminent rise of super-artificial intelligence 0_(*)

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music genres include classic and progressive/psychedelic rock, blues, jazz, folk, reggae, classical, and alternative.
Documentaries, sci-fi, fantasy and disaster are my favorite movie genres... but I'll admit I like some chick-flicks too!
I'm a slow reader so I don't read much, but I like pretty much every book I do read. My favorite book is the Count of Monte Cristo.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently quit my office job as a software engineer to help found an intentional community focused on sustainability, need-fulfillment, and design for the commons. Considering I've lived a pretty traditional life so far I feel like I'm taking a step onto the moon!
Teach, Learn, Share
My biggest skill set is computer programming and I am happy to share what I consider the most malleable medium of art.
Also thus far in my life I have traveled an interesting path toward self-actualization. I've been through tough times of depression, loneliness and misdirection. I would love to share my path with others in the hopes it helps unlock their potential and purpose.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Despite frequently being scatterbrained I am very neat and clean. I can help clean, walk dogs/cats, cook (from a recipe), run errands, be a travel companion, or offer very amateur couch therapy.
