About Me

Moved to Richmond 6 years ago to start my college career. Graduated school and now I work for one of the largest Environmental Firms in the world. I love to travel and go backpacking whenever I can. I speak German and have been to every state on the east coast. I love meeting new people from all walks of life and hearing their stories.

"A man is only rich in proportion, to what he can afford to leave alone"

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”

“At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.”

“To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders.”

“Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power.”

“Strip yourself of your proud airs and numerous desires, your complacent demeanor and excessive ambitions. They won’t do you any good. This is all I have to say you.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've met some of the coolest people through couchsurfing. I've hosted close to 30 people and couchsurfed with at least 20. Why stay in a hotel, where you don't get any taste of a city? Meeting the locals in a town you've never been to can be one of the best ways to get to know a place in my opinion. I just think couchsurfing is pretty ingenious and I'm glad such a tool exists.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very eclectic taste in music. Everything from the Allman Bros. to David Bowie to The Black Angels to Tycho to Bluegrass.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saved a dogs life while biking in Switzerland, I came up to a creek and saw a guy struggling to get his dog out of the water. The dog had gotten stuck in a whirpool and I dove in and pulled the dog out.
