About Me

I'm a British student who studied Chinese in Leeds and Shanghai before moving to Berlin for a Global Studies MA. In between I've worked in marketing and run charity music events on the side, spending a lot of time cooking, reading and making friends along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be living in Buenos Aires and Delhi over the next 12 months as part of my master's course, so I'll need a place to stay whilst I look for permanent accommodation in each city. I love meeting new people so couchsurfing makes sense :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
Over the past few years my life has revolved around music, as I DJed and ran charity parties in the UK before moving to Berlin. I love dance music of nearly all kinds, but especially techno, house and anything derived from jazz (especially South American and African dance music).

Films
I really enjoy clever, funny, scary or weird films, and I'm good for recommendations as my sister is a film genius.

Books
I love reading silly books, and at the moment I'm obsessed with Italo Calvino's "If On A Winter's Night A Traveller..." Other books that I've loved this year include Jose Saramago's "Blindness" and "Pale Fire" by Nabokov.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the start of this month I ran a music festival in a castle back in the UK, with dance music, jazz, ambient and more played in different rooms over three days and nights. We also had an immersive art installation, delicious meals and 120 of the nicest people I've met, so it was an incredible weekend and one of my proudest achievements,

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught English before, and I will happily introduce loads of amazing music to any hosts who are interested in listening.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing stories and ideas about the world with new people, and I have a massive range of interesting music to share. I also love to cook for friends, I find it really relaxing and a nice way to socialise.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Gambia, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland
