Overview
About Me
I recently quit my job and am currently in the midst of an around the world odyssey. After a lifetime of "following the rules" and playing it safe, I found myself burnt out and unhappy with the direction my life was headed. As a result I have decided that I need to stop talking about the things that I should or want to do and JUST GET OUT AND DO THEM!!
I have lived in Chicago all my life and have traveled extensively throughout the US but I could never find time to get out of the country; that is until now. Currently I am planning a trip that will take me all throughout Europe, Southeast Asia, and Australia. The idea is to push myself beyond my comfort zone and see where that leads me.
I am no longer the party animal I once used to be and would much rather share a drink or take a stroll and engage in good conversation. That being said I am not opposed to enjoying a good night out from time to time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The reason I am on Couchsurfing is because I believe that the only way to truly absorb the culture and the nuances of a region is to interact with the locals, as they are the ones who live there. I also love the fact that Couchsurfing is a community where total strangers who share a common interest can come together to share ideas and learn from one another and potentially develop lifelong relationships.
I am hoping to learn and share with people of all backgrounds and perspectives to further my knowledge and understanding of the world that we all share. Eventually I would love to take everything I learn and experience to become a host and share my home with others to continue to learn and grow as well as impart my own knowledge and experiences. I am also hoping to rely on the kindness of strangers to help aid in completing my journey around the world!!
Interests
I love watching movies and TV Shows (GAME OF THRONES IS LIFE!!!!). Recently I have been trying my hand at filming and editing videos especially as I am globe trotting around the world. I have taken numerous Improv comedy classes and would recommend everyone to take a class at least once in their life. I love hiking, sightseeing, and sampling new and different cuisines, however I am gluten free so at times my choices are limited :(
Any advice and help visiting historical sites and locations would also be greatly appreciated!!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music and I am so excited to add more genres to my playlist as I travel around to different regions. I am also looking forward to sampling some more foreign films as the majority of my film knowledge is in American cinema.
