I am a chemistry student at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. I really love learning languages and experiencing different cultures. I'm sure these are common passions for people on this site but that's why I just signed up! I travelled quite a lot with my parents when I was younger but we only visited the typical tourist sites. After spending a lot of time in Barcelona and Minorca with my then girlfriend I really developed an interest in learning about other cultures and languages. However it also taught me to be proud of where I come from and how it can be really interesting to share stories about it and aspects of its culture with people from other parts of the world.

I decided to join Couchsurfing as it is a fantastic opportunity to meet people from all over the world who can show and tell you about sides of their countries and cultures that most tourists never get to experience. I also look forward to giving others an insight into my home country- its beauty and its peculiarities. The opportunity to practise languages I'm learning (Spanish currently!) and give those I meet the chance to practise their English is another important reason that I joined.

I would really love to hear about some of the interesting traditions of your country or region, practise some Spanish (or learn a few phrases in your native language), discover the best things to see and do in your city, experience the nightlife with you and maybe learn a local recipe!

I would love to tell you all about where I'm from and what it's like to live in Northern Ireland and Scotland, teach you a local recipe (we aren't known for our food though :D), practise your English with you (I am easy to understand) and I'll bring you a wee present from my country.
