About Me

My name is Andrew, and I'm a 21 year old that grew up in the Bay Area, California. I just graduated college, and am really excited to be able to explore the world. Traveling is such an amazing experience to me, so before I start my "real life" with work, I would like to meet amazing people from all around the world and learn from them. I'm an open-minded individual, and I live my life always willing to try new things if they're worth trying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While younger, my thought of traveling was about the destination, but as I started to travel on my own, I realized that's part of it, but the people are what I appreciate the most.

Interests

Music is great. I love to listen to music, dance to music, attend concerts, read about artists, and even occasionally make music.
Food is great. I can eat a lot, and love trying foods from all sorts of cultures. For me though, nothing can beat really good Chinese food.
I like being active, I work out, like playing sports, going on some hikes, and getting outdoors.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge music fan and listen to many genres, but Hip-Hop and R&B are definitely my favorite genres. Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, and Kanye are some of my favorite artists, along with many others. Attending live music events is one of my favorite things to do, there's nothing quite like experiencing the energy of a great show in person.

When it comes to movies, I love critically acclaimed movies just as much as a stupid comedy that can get me to laugh. Some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, Freakonomics, Outliers, Just Mercy and Fresh Off The Boat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At a small town in Vietnam called Tam Coc, I learned to ride a motorcycle, and rode around the beautiful countryside. After a long but amazing day, as the sun was setting, my bike broke and I had to negotiate over Google Translate with an angry Vietnamese lady about how much money I owed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories of my travels, growing up Asian-American, knowledge about technology, or just be a good listener.
