About Me

25 years young. I stand a respectable 5'11 and weigh in at just over 165lbs. I've made it my life goal to meet as many people as I can and force myself out of my comfort zone. Currently breaking down personal barriers like the walls of Jericho.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I finished a 1200 mile bicycle tour in August 2016 and stayed with a bunch of amazing Couchsurfing hosts along the way. I then travelled for a few months by car and used Couchsurfing along the way as well. I find it is important to be able to not simply visit, but soak up culture in new towns and areas. Couchsurfing has been a great outlet for connecting with locals and making this happen, and I'd like to start hosting here in Philly if possible to give back to this great community.

Interests

I love beer, and made it for a living.
Love hiking, biking, rock climbing, camping and urban exploration. Basically GOING OUTSIDE. I hate being cooped up indoors, and get stir crazy.
I listen to a TON of music, and play guitar. I play piano and bass as well, but not as well.
My interest gauge spins like a weathervane on a mountaintop.
I am a huge fan of stand up comedy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love ska, experimental, surf rock, indie, classical and progressive music. Basically every genre except electronic or country. I am incredibly opened minded, and am the rare person that will actually check out a band that you tell me to check out.
I will prepare you, if we start a conversation about music you are going to hear about RX Bandits. Just a warning.
The concentration of concerts I've gone to in a given period of time is usually paralleled by my positivity/sanity during that time.

I watch mostly comedy movies, but love movies that make you think.

Last 3 books read: The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Desolation Angels by Jack Kerouac, The Noble Eightfold Path by Bhikkhu Bodhi
Currently reading: The Town and the City by Jack Kerouac, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shunryu Suzuki

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Did a 5 week bicycle tour from Coconut Creek, FL to Charleston and back. Met so many amazing and interesting people along the way. Couchsurfed along the way, and cannot wait to host couchsurfers myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can answer most questions you have about beer.
I would love to learn more about travel in general, and experience new cultures.
I love to share experiences and stories, and hear those of others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Can always bore with beer/brewing/fermentation information, if nerding out tickles the fancy . Always sharing I've accrued and enjoy intelligent conversation. I also have a deep well of stupid jokes that seems to erratically pervade my mental processes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
