Overview
About Me
My wife Michelle who is in the picture is American. We are got married last year. I grew up in the south west of England. I’m a used car dealer and I find myself not just bitten but infected by the travel bug all over again just as I was 20 years ago. I have travelled a lot over the years but more recently in Europe which I love. I travelled extensively around the USA and a bit in Canada then I spent a year in Australia and have travelled in South East Asia. I’m travelling from November 2019 starting in North America. As an artist then I’m very inquisitive to learn more just like when you research a new role in a play.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I first travelled in 1998 to 2000 there wasn’t anything like this available. Yes we had Lonely Planet books and backpacker hostels but you really had to wait until you got there to find out if these places were friendly or just any good.
This is a precious global community of like minded people all with the aim to travel and be hospitable. When I return from my travels I intend to be a host. I think the best way to learn about new places is to be in the company of locals. I think this is such a beautiful thing and I am proud to be a part of it.

Music, Movies, and Books
It was Bond films that got me into travelling in the first place. There are so many books and films I like that I can’t begin to tell you. I’m open minded with music. I still love The Beatles and always will. I still love all the hard rock from England and America that I listened to as a kid in the 80’s.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was held up at gunpoint and for some reason I was perfectly calm. This was in Sydney where my brother now lives.
I also have to give myself a pat on the back for quitting alcohol and tobacco. I don’t mind other people drinking alcohol around me. I stopped it because I’m better off without it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Willing to learn new things and skills.
What I Can Share with Hosts
