About Me

Hi! My names Andrew and I've just finished up my final year of university in Scotland. I've always enjoyed travelling and have lived in the US, UK, France and Switzerland. I think meeting locals when travelling is the most important part because there's no better way to learn the culture, and teach someone else about your own.
I grew up in Dallas, Texas (home of the Cowboys!) and then moved to Glasgow for university.
Art and music are big passions of mine and I love to speak about them and learn about new music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet new people and gain experiences I wouldn't have in countries if I didn't know the locals.

Interests

I rowed competitively for several years and then took up cycling because it was easier to access. Nothing beats hitting the road on a sunny day.
Take me to an art museum and my day is complete! I could spend hours wandering around talking about what we're looking at.
If you want to talk a little bit of politics (and say horrible things about Donald Trump with me) then lets do it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Varies widely from jazz to American folk, and funk to rock.
Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles (nothing beats the White Album), Beirut, , Ben Folds, A$AP Rocky, Muse, The Cranberries, Bob Dylan, etc. etc.
I love Wes Anderson and Stanley Kubrick, so pretty much all of their films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to France not knowing French and left a year later fluent.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great conversation, good jokes (I like to think, but they are mainly dad jokes), a drinking buddy, my culture.
Lifelong friendship and somewhere to stay in Scotland if you ever visit!

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
