About Me

I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD USA. After I became a veterinarian I moved to Beijing and worked in a small animal hospital. I worked there until January 2013, when I took some time off and traveled around the world visiting friends I'd made and take them up on some free accommodations. I moved to NYC in July 2013 and started a residency training program to take care of research animals.

Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people. I know New York is crazy expensive and happy to lend someone a couch for a few days if they're a legitimate explorer. I don't need to hang out with couchsurfers every second they're here, but it's nice to chat with someone and grab a meal or a drink. Isn't that the point of couchsurfing? I mean... besides the free housing! I've couchsurfed before in Switzerland, Sweden, and Hong Kong. Happy to pay it forward for when I'm traveling again in the future.

Interests

Anything that gets me outside and with other people I usually enjoy. Will try any sport once or twice. Like swimming in oceans, lakes, or rivers. Relaxing with some beers. Fried food. Terrible 80s music. Terrible 90s music. Concerts. Free stuff. Food.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading pretty much anything - fantasy, sci-fi, biography, suspense, thriller, mystery, historical.
Love all genre's of movies - love a good B movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Overnight camping on the Great Wall, climbing a Glacier in New Zealand with my mom, snowboarding in the Swiss Alps. Ok... that's three... but whatever.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can jump over my own leg, not sure I can teach you. Also, I can juggle (badly)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A clean and safe place to stay. Nothing fancy, but hey... I'm from Baltimore and that's not really our style.
