About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living. Loving. Learning.

ABOUT ME

I love meeting people, and can generally find joy in situations. I enjoy being plugged into a community of people who know each other and support each other where they live. I also love seeing other communities in action: herstorically and historically significant places, urban neighborhoods, and vibrant rural towns.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a being, an integral part in and supported by my community. My community is my neighborhood, my Episcopal church, and all the other groups and organizations interested in supporting all my neighbors. I love all people. I am often wrong, but I work for collective liberation. I seek to help others flourish and try to let myself flourish as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I am willing to hang out in Boston, or possibly find a host for someone. When travelling, I just need a floor or couch, though a bathroom would be nice as well. I love exploring cities by bike. Dangerous, yet fun. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I have couchsurfed in a bit on the East Coast, US. I have been to Boston, Atlanta, Asheville, Durham, Washington DC, Baltimore, Toronto and Philadelphia recently. In the summer of 2014, I went all around Europe. I love exploring a city and meeting up with friends for a coffee or beer.

Interests

Peace and conflict transformation, bikes, ultimate frisbee, coffee, beer, music (playing bass/trumpet/banjo/mandolin/guitar/ukulele or whatever, or listening, or going to shows/concerts), church exploring (architecture, practice,) theology, philosophy...

All music. I love playing and listening to everything. Right now: Janelle Monae, Bomba Estereo, Ibeyi, Anaïs Mitchell, Stromae, music of Taizé,
Books (Authors): Wendell Berry, Dostoevsky, Krista Tippett, Elizabeth Johnson, Chaim Potok, Parker Palmer, Paul Farmer, James Cone, Travel books ...

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking! Can I please cook with or for my host/guest? Bike fixing skills (modest amount). Music (I'd love to jam, listen, go to shows), Talking philosophy and theology (i want to learn and listen). Chilling out, meditating. (open to interpretation I am intrigued by Christian monastic practices, interfaith conversation, secular mindfullness, and just enjoying a coffee and conversation).
