About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of America as possible, and to meet the people that make this country tick.

ABOUT ME

I am a genuinely easy person to talk to, with a wide-ranging sense of humor. Always looking to push myself that little bit further for that wonderful experience that is out there in the big old world.

It is my burning desire to see and experience as much of the world as possible. I do not have a blinkered version of fun and revel in enjoying other people's company. I am always open to new and exciting ideas.

PHILOSOPHY

At the end of my days, I aim to take comfort in knowing that I have done all that I wanted to do. Saw all the sites, met all the people, lived all of the experiences. I feel that would be the most comforting thought for me at the end.

And so to help that philosophy I believe in not holding grudges, being generous and compassionate to others and allowing others the space to do likewise.

Live and let live, Que sera sera.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't participated as of yet. When I return to England after my year abroad for studying I will be more receptive to hosting people than I can currently be.

But right now I want to meet real people, not a hotel receptionist or a waiter, real people with a vested interest in getting to know people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with a couple of people so far in my time in America, and they were great, so I want to expand on that experience. I have stayed in hostels and other arrangements where I have met and embraced strangers as well.

Interests

I am someone who is massively into all sports. I like to experience new things all the time, whether it be food, culture, meeting new people or new sports.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find it hard to make a list of favorites, not because I don't have any but because it depends on mood. I nearly always appreciate comedy on TV, Family Guy, South Park, SNL, Peep Show, Ricky Gervais to name but a few that I have indulged in recently.
My music taste has developed somewhat since my adolescent years. I used to (and to some degree still do) like R & B, pop, dance among others. Nowadays I'm a big rock, alternative, indie fan. I adore Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, QOTSA, FOALS and The XX. (Just to give a quick overview)
I love going to festivals, especially with a big group of friends. The drink, the relaxation and the music are an intoxicating trio.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm still so young. This is my unfortunate flaw!

I did hitchhike from England to Morocco, through France and Spain, for charity. That was a great experience. I really enjoyed seeing something that was not Westernised. This was the trip that whetted my appetite to see the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy cooking. I always wanted to be a chef when I was younger, so I carry that enjoyment forward to the present day. I'm not saying what I will create will be a masterpiece, but I'll enjoy making it nonetheless.
I guess the thing that I could teach that could be deemed somewhat unique, is a different perspective on culture.
