About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Let the sun beat down upon my face, stars fill my dreams. I am a traveler of both time and space.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the city of St. Louis but now live in Chicago. I have always been interested in different cultures and ethnicities as well as the various customs, foods, languages, and lifestyles that define as well as shape them. I enjoy the city life for all of the lifestyles it blends together, but am drawn to nature as well. I love hiking camping and the like.I ride my bicycle everywhere I go. I am not sure where my interests will take me yet but I am open to suggestions. I hope that through my experiences and the experiences of those I meet I will find or grow into my niche.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live as if each day were a lesson. Someone once said you are the sum of your experiences, and I try to expand my horizons each day in order to make that sum a more well rounded one. I think that everyone has some good to offer the world, and that through our interactions we show each other their purpose and meaning. Every culture teaches another about life. We have to be open to different lifestyles and the best way to do that is to interact with and experience walks of life that are not familiar (and sometimes totally foreign or uncomfortable) in order to become better people. When we do that we will become a better society and a better world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to this, but learning fast.

Interests

I love to create and learn. I dabble in drawing, painting, photography, and sculptural art. Each one lets me express my worldview a different way and together they create a sort of vehicle for me to move through the world. I play a little bit of guitar but I'm not very good at it ha. I love to bike, run, and hike and try to spend as much time outside as possible. I enjoy trying new foods and attempt to incorporate these into my cooking as much as possible. I could listen to music all day and try to see as many live concerts as possible. Blues, jazz, electronic, indie, hip-hop, classical, world music: they all have something to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm sort of all over the place with books, but a few favorites are Fight Club, A Walk in the Woods, and Guns, Germs, and Steel. I can't even list all of the music I like but if you ever need any I have a large library you can probably find something you'll love in.

Some of my favorites right now are Little Dragon, Phantogram, Foster the People, Kurt Vile, the Local Natives, Radiohead, Spoon, Talking Heads, James Brown, The Black Keys, Beirut, Bibio, and more.

Some shows that I have attended include Carlos Santana, The Cars, Damien Marley and Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Derek Truck's Band, The Black Keys, Cage the Elephant, Bassnectar about a million symphonies, I don't know too many.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I jumped out of a plane at 10,000 feet. It was incredible. There is no feeling like standing at the door of a plane with nothing but wind and clouds below you knowing your about a mili-second from falling. Terrifying and exhilarating a the same time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn about other walks of life. Be the change you want to see in the world, and the world will start looking a lot different. Ill teach you how to grill the best burger you've ever had.
