ABOUT ME
I am very easygoing and really love meeting new people. I think most people would consider me outgoing, and I guess I am. I live in a world of Spanglish, and often find myself communicating in this strange meshed language for better or for worse. I love learning about languages and although I only speak two I am always trying to learn and use phrases in others. I believe that everyone can learn something from other people, and when we stop trying to do that, we cease to grow and live fully.
PHILOSOPHY
I am not sure how defined my personal philosophy is, but I think, overall, I believe that whatever you are doing, you should try and do it to the best of your abilities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with 2 different hosts in the south of Spain and had wonderful experiences. If I could, I would quit school and become a professional couchsurfer/hoster.
Interests
When I am not studying, I love music and salsa dancing. I also love being outdoors and enjoying the sun as well as aerobic activities like running, swimming, biking, etc.. I also love card games and could spend hours at night playing old games or learning new ones. I don't play too many sports anymore, but I enjoy watching almost any sport. I love to cook as well and would love to cook for any hosts or guests. I think sharing food is a great way to share culture and build relationships.

Music, Movies, and Books
Primero, Movies: I really like Spanish cinema, especially Pedro Almodovar films, I also enjoyed "Y Tu Mama Tambien", cheesy comedy movies, disney/pixar movies, and (for some reason this sticks out to me as great) the movie "Big Trouble"
Music: almost any latin genre - pop, rock, tropical, reggeaton, etc... and in english I kind of listen to whatever minus country and heavy metal music. Some of my favorite artists (in no particular order) are Pedro Luis Ferrer, Alejandro Sanz, Shakira, Celia Cruz, and Carlos Vives
Books: I love to read and only wish I had more time for it. Some of my favorite books tend to be non-fiction ("Mountains Beyond Mountains", "Freakanomics") But I also really love Spanish literature and most of my favorite fiction books come from hispanic authors (I think "El Amor en los tiempos de Colera" is my favorite fiction book).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1.) I watched the sun set from a 40 meter high tree tower over a vast relatively untouched portion of the Amazonian rainforest in a biology study station in Ecuador.
2.) I took a hike through los picos de Europa and watched as the landscape changed dramatically as we descended a barren mountaintop to a green pasture below.
3.) I happened to be in barcelona when their club soccer team beat real Madrid and watched as the city was literally lit on fire by a happy almost rioting crowd.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help teach English if anyone is interested! Other than that I may be pretty useless, haha, unless you want to talk about microbiology or organic chemistry or something along those lines.
