About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to find out what my mission is.
ABOUT ME
I am an American from the mountains of New Mexico and currently live in San Francisco! I just started working at a great non-profit here in the Bay Area working with international co-ops! I love to rock climb, frolick in the snow, and just be a part of the wonderful outdoors (I have ever since I was a kid). I am what I call a "walking contradiction." I am a romantic, musician, mechanic, pseudo-artist, science lover, geek, outdoors person, book worm, city-lover, gardener, and environmentalist bundled into one.
Most of all I am a wanderlust stricken traveler ever since I first stepped off the plane on my first trip to Peru. I have learned that slower is better, that in order to learn anything about any other culture you need to live with them and like them. To stop taking the tours and start wandering the backstreets, get away from the english and practice your broken Quecha with a Incan Shaman.
I love to talk about anything and everything! Your country, your life, philosophy, the environment, anything! I am curious beyond belief about anything from particle physics to different types of animals, to Russian literature.
PHILOSOPHY
Simplistic happiness is usually to most lasting. Travel for stories and experiences, not for sites and landscapes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am now in Italia studying and bettering my italian. I usually participate by stopping at meet ups.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have stayed with several people throughout Spain and Italy and loved it! Every host was different and amazing in their own way. I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Interests
In my free time I like to hike, climb, chat, strum, paint, act, paddle, ponder, read, write, saunter, take pictures, sit back. Anything really. I love to do just about everything. Depending where I am though, I usually pull out a book in my free time, rant my crazy philosophy jargon on my friends, or rock climb.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like good music. It doesn't matter the genre or type, if a song/band is good, it's good. But to give a few names I love The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Franz Ferdinand, Vampire Weekend, La Franela, Mozart, Ben Harper, Gogol Bordello, Neutral Milk Hotel, and just about anything! There's so many to name and so little time.
As far as movies, anything Monty Python related I love. But really almost any genre or actor (musicals, comedies, you name it). "El Elephante Blanco" was a recent movie that struck me. "The Artist" was also pretty good. I usually don't like current movies because they're too...predictable? Or just play into stereotypes and so in the past years I haven't gone to the cinema often.
Authors? Oh God I could go on about this. Here's a few of over dozens and dozens: Terry Pratchett, CS Lewis, Plato, Aldo Leopold, Nietzsche, Dante, Dostoevsky, Huxley, and Glen Cook are just a few. I usually end up reading either War Novels, Fantasy, or some form of tragedy (1982, Brave New World, All Quiet on the Western Front, Crime & Punishment are some examples). But that's not to say I don't like a book with a happy ending or I don't read outside of those topics. I am interested in everything!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are some many amazing things in the world! I also don't want to seem to brag or something. But a couple things I have done are:
-Star Gazing in the pitch black Colca Canyon,
-Seen Machu Pichu in the early morning fog,
-Rock Climbed in Thailand,
-Wandered the streets of Venice late into the night,
-Bungee Jumped in Cuzco,
-Tangoed in Argentina,
-and climbed in the Rockies.
Teach, Learn, Share
Umm..shoot...does anyone really know anything?
If you want to learn some guitar basics, I am your man!
If you want to learn basic Tango (I know both male and female)!
I know some basic of the African Djembe as well.
I guess the number one thing I do know is survival skills. So if you want to know how to make a fire/shelter/clean water when you're stuck in the woods, let me know. :)
