Hi all! I am a current resident of Washington DC working on my PhD in Physics at the University of Maryland. I am an avid cyclist getting ready for my first large bicycle tour starting from London and ending in Berlin! When I am traveling I usually avoid the touristy stuff and like to just get a sense of how real people enjoy the area. Going to the local bar, eating street food, biking randomly around the city/countryside or even just making a meal at home and getting to know the people I am staying with makes me happy. I enjoy hanging out with my hosts but also make a lot of plans for myself. My main goal when surfing is to be respectful to the area around me, the people around me, and of course my hosts! Also if your bike needs a tune up I am more than happy to lend my mechanics skills!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to use Couchsurfing because it allows me to connect with real people when I visit a new place! I like making new friends that can visit me in the future and sharing skills that I have with people I meet. In the future when I don't live in a cramped group house I hope I contribute to the community as a host!

Interests

Right now riding my bike is a big part of my life. I enjoy finding the weird corners of the city I live in and the places I visit. Having meaningful conversations with people and sharing ideas that make me grow is important. Going to the bar and having a beer is also important :)

Right now I am listening to Jenny Hval, Porches, Angel Olsen, and Mitski. I have a lot of old go tos as well like Steely Dan, Hall and Oats, Sonic Youth, and Joy Division.
