ABOUT ME
I cannot say how my friends would describe me, as I feel the people I am with feed heavily into the person I am at the moment. However, there are certain attributes to my personality that are much more stable, such as my pensive nature. I am a thinker and a "reflecter", I cherish the opportunity to observe and think as I am an academic person. I can be witty and humorous at times, and also compassionate and dedicated to my friends. I am gay, if that matters at all. I thrive on adventure and seeing/experiencing new things - I crave a little culture shock every once in a while. One more thing.. I'm not afraid to let loose, so bring on the good times :)
Interests
From an early age, culture and languages captivated me, so when I first packed my bags and left Canada for Korea I was hooked. Each place that I have gone, I spent my weeks leading up to departure researching the culture, learning snipits of the language, and planning to make the absolute best of every moment abroad. Travel is my passion, the people and their culture is what fuels the passion.
From that love of people, sprung a profession. I am currently studying nursing at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. I work in the Emergency Room and I can tell you honestly, that I have loved every moment of this job. Nursing is the perfect fusion of academics and compassion for people.
This last point, comes from my spiritual side -- borrowing heavily from Buddhism; beauty. Whether it be a breathtaking landscape, a beautiful work of art, fashion, music, people; if beauty and goodness lie at its core, I adore it. This is not to say I am superficial, I merely have an eye and an appreciation of beautiful moments and objects.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once, while staying in the Golgulsa Buddhist temple in South Korea, we awoke at 5 in the morning to do a walking meditation, in complete silence we marched through the mountains, stopping by a small farm, and all of a sudden 3 white cranes flew over head and landed in the trees facing us. It was a beautiful and spiritual moment.
Another moment that struck awe into my heart was on a river cruise in the Bosphorus, during my stay in Istanbul. It was an evening cruise, with the other students that were on the Lions International Arts and Culture exchange, the sun was setting on the many minarets of the city as we docked, and just as we were approached the shore the azan began and echoed from mosque to mosque all across the city. Once again, the power and spirituality of the moment was one that moved me.
