I would think my friends would describe me as open and honest and a very kind a friendly person. Always up for a new challenge and having fun. I would say I am thoughtful and have a good generally knowledge and like to have discussions with people on wide ranges of subjects. Learning new things. Experiencing different places and culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mainly to meet like minded traveller types from around the globe. Be it showing them around my home city/country, meeting them in theirs or in a neutral country and exploring as a buddy.

Interests

At the moment I'm totally hooked on the travel bug and meeting new people from all over, trying new jobs and just getting outside the comfort zone.
I do enjoy outdoor sports, reading and socialising. Love a bit of hiking/walking/tramping. Some good climbs have whetted the appetite further.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up listening to the early 90s British indie scene and 60s and 70s rock and pop. I like folk music too. I try not to pigeon hole myself too much music wise. I often like music for the occasion. Reggae, Dance, house, hip hop, even a bit of Drum n Base. I'll dance to most things.
Book wise I'd say my favourite genre would be of the epic fantasy group but I'm really keen on the Sharpe and Last Kingdom series by Bernard Cromwell, John Irvine novels. Stories with interesting characters. Also dig a good in depth dystopian Sci fi novel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Actually getting myself in order and pushing myself to start travelling is one of the most amazing things I've done. Put it off for far too long. Got the visa, booked the flight and went... Been West to East in Oz, all over New Zealand, spent a week and a half in Fiji, spent 3 months in Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. Travelled from Istanbul to Edinburgh by boat, bus and train via Greece, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and England.

I would like to think I've built a decent amount of experience in travelling over 3-4 years so that I would happily help with any information that I might have. Tips and tricks.

I like to share my own countries culinary dishes and would be happy making or helping others find some good options to try.
