About Me
UPDATE: currently in between jobs and able to host couchsurfers on the living room couch (pretty self-explanatory) for shorter stays (up to 3 nights, depending on the circumstances)… and also not asking at all but if it does works for you, am open to subletting my super clean and quiet (private) master bedroom at a nightly (or short term) rate much cheaper than hotels in the area during the holidays, since I may have somewhere else I can stay some nights.
As far as the latter I’m not trying to drive up prices or make a profit in any way at all. It’s purely to help cover some of the rent in this expensive neighborhood and the cost of changing laundry and bedding for you, deep cleaning before and after, and travel if staying somewhere else (at the moment I am subletting my place, so this situation only applies if o don’t have someone staying in the room already) but we can discuss that as an option too, only if having the private space are genuinely something you’re interested in, versus just the couch! :)
If not, that’s more than okay too and we can try to get you on the couch if there’s room, although it’s more likely in January as February is a bit of a toss up.

Former chef, now working in tech, most recently as a solutions engineer and head of product/project management at a small real-estate startup here in the city for a couple years. Open to hosting for a few days here and there with other fun people looking to explore the city or are just in need of housing during their travels in a safe and chill place in lower Manhattan.
One quick note: I seem to get a lot of requests but am also trying to balance my own life with hosting so please bear with me- I don’t always know what I’ll be doing or if I’m free weeks or months in advance (I’m usually better with last minute(ish) requests, week-to-week or sometimes day to day) anyway it’s pretty rare I can to confirm far in advance, so please bear with and hopefully we’re able to connect! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hi guys! I’ve been in the East Village for 3 years and living in NYC for11 total. I finally decided my new 2br apt in the East Village was ready to host fun, open minded guests, and meet new members of this amazing community :)
Looking to meet up for coffee, drinks, convos, cultural exchanges, an occasional EDM show, check out this beautiful city I’ve called home the past 10+ years, and host!
I’m super late to the party but I’m also looking to pickup new languages (Russian, Spanish, German, Mandarin Chinese) as well as improve improve my photography and singing skills (any patient voice coaches willing to get down and share some of their skills for a night or two would be above and beyond 🙏 haha)
I’m newly back on Couchsurfing but have hosted in the past at previous apts in NYC and generally love the culture and people I meet here. Feel free to reach out!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Transitioning my career from NYC cook and chef to full-time in IT engineer by putting myself through school. I also do a little standup comedy on the side for fun but I don’t know if you’d call that amazing lol
What I Can Share with Hosts
My apt is new, clean, and in a very safe, fun and vibrant area in Manhattan’s East Village. I have a smaller sleeper couch in the living room and fully stocked kitchen and common areas I take a lot of pride in keeping very clean. I’m also looking to occasionally sublet out my fully furnished master bedroom (my room) to trustworthy people looking for a really comfy and private setup for a like minimal fee if it’s of interest, since I have somewhere else I can stay a few nights out of the week and I’m also a longtime critic of the real estate market in NYC so I’m def looking to make a profit in any way in that case! That said the rent here is fully out of control so I’m also throwing that option out there haha
Kid/chaos/pet free. My room is furnished and if I’m there, I can also share if someone wants to sleep on the floor in extreme situations (like have nowhere go and the couches and beds are taken-I’ve been there before so I empathize with that too). That said, I generally prefer to host just one or two people from the same party at a time lol.
I have a second bed sometimes available in the other room when my roommate is travelling that we can sometimes use for hosting as well but that’s on a case by case basis and I would bring it up if it’s an option during the time you request and think it’s a good fit. I just moved here after being in a very cramped apt for way too long previously so I’m still figuring out exactly how to use the space but it’s finally in good enough shape to host and since I know what it’s like to travel or look for housing on a budget I figured why not help this beautiful community wherever possible!
I have a lot of knowledge of local Manhattan and Williamsburg areas (been in the East Village, Manhattan for 4 years). I also know the city in general pretty well (NYC/Brooklyn 10 years + lol). Always happy to share and help as a guide, or just hangout if you’re local :)
I’m a big fan of the arts, live music, cocktails, standup comedy, beers, and wine, and looking to host fellow surfers with similar interests. Having a socially-conscious mindset, being a little weird, open-minded, and having good sense of humor are also great!
