Independent film-maker and engineer with a passion for genre movies, European languages, psychology and machine-learning. I'm also a standup comedian and improv actor, here in Malta.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy meeting people and watching their faces register [a|be]musement when I make a hapless attempt to communicate in their mother-tongue. Assuming that their mother tongue is one of the European "Big-5". Alas, my linguistic knowledge dies a sudden death, beyond those borders. I know: BOO.

Film is my great passion. In my opinion, it's the only modern narrative art form which truly reaches "the masses". The gladiatorial arena of our time, if you will. TV and Netflix are - in my view - a distant second. (Can you convince me otherwise? Please! What am I missing? ;-) ) My mission is to write an algorithm to deduce which films are really going to touch you - as an individual human being - and why.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've gone to CouchSurfing meetups in whichever city I've been living in (California, Southern England, the South of France, Malta). They've always been a fantastic way to make new friends, explore the area and gain some of the knowledge of the natives.

CouchSurfing seems to attract the kind of people that I gel with.

I'm not currently hosting or surfing on couches.

Música, películas y libros

I love science-fiction, fantasy and drama movies. Basically, all genre movies - especially the dark ones. I'm cool with comedy - and the occasional chick-flick too. Truth.

Modern animated televsion shows - through their satire - may be the greatest critique of modern times. I don't typically read the paper or watch "the news". Instead, I watch "South Park", "Archer", "Family Guy" and "Rick and Morty"! Much more insightful - and truthful.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I spent 8 years in Hollywood, California. There, I worked with some of the biggest names in the film industry. It was a great privilege, and an amazing experience to see the magic of movies brought to life from the inside. Film is my greatest love, and I could talk about movies all night. This is not a joke.

I lived in Montpellier for a year. Amazing wine - fantastic people, lovely architecture and incredible surrounding countryside!

I briefly lived in Singapore. The culture shock was tough at first. But the place, the people and the lifestyle grew on me quickly. Best of all in Singapore? Incredible food!
