Overview
About Me
I am from the West Coast of the US and went to school in Santa Barbara CA. Immediately after college, I got a job as an NBC Page at 30 Rock and spent the next three decades working with all the NYC-based NBC Entertainment shows -- The Cosby Show, Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, 30 Rock. It was an INCREDIBLE experience!!
During COVID, I retired and - although I still have an apartment and a house in NYC - I moved to Barcelona! I first just came to learn Spanish and see how I like it. But I've fallen in love with the city, and it now looks like i (and my dog - Cade) are HERE TO STAY!! Bought a VW CALIFORNIA van and have been tooling around Europe with BCN as my base. I am basically living out my twenty-something dreams in my early retirement! HA!
I (obviously) love travel, music, talks about spiritual matters, reading, writing and MY DOG!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
LOVE my wit and humor and willingness to be adventurous. LOVE that I'm smart and am as happy staying in as going out. LOVE Nature and am grateful to the Universe for ALL that it has given me and taught me.
With regard to people, all my life, and especially at NBC, I've been surrounded by incredible people, but my default has always been being alone. Yet I really do love people coming in and out of my life. There are things that I am exposed to and am taught that can arrive in no other way.
So... the Couchsurfing platform brings me an opportunity to meet a lot of new people from all over the world, play host, connect or just provide a couch (e.g. a bit of charity) for someone passing through. It's a great way to connect without having to really make the effort.
(By the way, I am always looking for traveling partners in the van so if hitting the road also interests you and we get along - and you're willing to drive a bit - let me know! Open to anything.
Interests
I love learning. Have a Masters From New York University and my latest endeavor is - these last two years - is trying to learn Spanish. Also love history, road tripping, history, reading (especially non-fiction and biographies) and cultural events, like Tomatina and Las Falles in Valencia. I chase after new experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - anything except for heavy metal
Movies - anything by the Cohen Brothers (or anything with twist and turns like "Breaking Bad") and documentaries
Books - do a lot of audio books now (last one was about Elon Musk - yikes!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done a LOT of AMAZING things for starters... Burning Man (a number of times), hiked Mount Fuji, surfed a summer in Hawaii, won an Emmy Award for helping create NBC's THE MORE YOU KNOW, took flying lessons, did ayawasca (and some other things). been to every state in the US, and hung out with every celebrity imaginable. (I know those are a lot of things but it counts as one because the one amazing thing I've done is LIVE!)

Anecdotes, stories, knowledge, laughs, wine... will probably wind up more of a host though than a Couchsurfer. :)
