ABOUT ME
Working as a high school science teacher. I teach chemistry and physics. I'm pretty mild-mannered, equally down for adventures and hanging around.
I put a fair amount of time on random hobby projects that change from week to week. I love biking, backpacking, climbing mountains, and hiking; gardening, cooking, and photography; electronics. I play piano pretty well, mostly jazz these days, and guitar for fun.
My favorite way to explore a new city is by wandering. I try to not have many expectations on trips; there's little I try to "see". I want to see a city on its own terms, not necessarily a website's or a guidebook's.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've only done it a few times. I'll be looking for places to crash on random trips -- predictably. I hope to someday be a host!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time I climbed this mountain to the top. Plenty of other people had been there before, but everyone has their own mountain. This one was amazing.
But also one of the coolest things I've done is a 100+ mile, 11 day trip along the John Muir Trail in the Sierras. It was rough, beautiful, epic, and rewarding.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know some things and have a lot to learn. I'm looking forward to meeting people and exchanging perspectives.
