About Me

ABOUT ME

I love to travel, explore and experience life to the full.

PHILOSOPHY

Experience life to the full and embrace and experience all cultures and ways of life. I love adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know what it is like to arrive in a different country and you would like somewhere to stay, especially for the first night, to rest and relax.
I am happy to help people coming to New Zealand and share experiences and cultures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2015 I Surfed for the first time in London and Iceland. It was a fantastic, amazing experience. My knowledge of Hosting people helped me a lot. I would recommend to anyone, if possible, to Host some Surfers first before Surfing. It is not about free accommodation it is about sharing adventures and understanding cultures and making the world a smaller place.

Interests

Hiking, Caving and Mountain Climbing
I love to read and have published a Children's Book .

Music, Movies, and Books

Love them all. My interest and taste knows no limits. Some of the black and white films are still the greatest, especially the use of light. "The Thing", "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" and "Casablanca" are still some of the best films ever made.
I also love paintings. Especially the so called classics. Van Gough, Monet, Constable, Þorláksson to name but a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many things where do I start. I travel alone and as a result have adventures a group of people would not usually have.
I went to Russia and China in 1989 to experience the Country before it changed too much. The Trans Siberian was an incredible journey.
I love mountain climbing and have climbed the highest mountain in Iceland "Hvannadalshnúkur". Not a difficult climb but one of the most beautiful.
I have just been to Greenland and shared beautiful meals and stayed with several Inuit families in this peaceful, spectacular country. A wonderful experience.
Wrote and published a Children's Book called the "Adventures of Lammie". So many more stories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I live on a Farm and am able to show people New Zealand and have a few adventures at the same time.
