About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, Learn, and Enjoy

ABOUT ME

Laid back music and wine lover. Work on the production side of wine. Spent two years with Peace Corps as a math teacher near Banfora, Burkina Faso. Spent a decade as a structural engineer before deciding to join the wine industry (around the same time as applying for the Peace Corps). Work/Volunteer at a couple wineries and began making my own wine in 2012. I enjoy meeting new interesting people and hearing about their lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Started by hosting but am not able to host at the moment. Met some great surfers who returned the favor during my travels. I
would love to meet up with new people, too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First totally random couchsurfing experience was trading tickets to a show for a couch to sleep on through a website message board. Still keep in contact with that person and we have shared couches with each other multiple times since.

Interests

Very interested in wine. Have tasted at nearly 200 wineries, mostly in Oregon. Enjoy beer and breweries as well. Also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, snowboarding, and running. Playing racquetball and basketball. Music in general, preferably live. Open to seeing just about any type of live music show.
Experiencing different cultures is amazing whether through travel or just talking to someone.
