About Me

I love living in New York and how there's always something interesting right out the door. I'm also a big fan of staying inside and playing computer games all day. I'm always working on being a more open person through meditation and learning more about the people around me. I'm finishing up my two degrees next year, so am heavily focused on learning more about myself and how to use that in my art.

I love Nikki. We got married in 2014, and we're a bit less the "settling down" type and more of the "partners in crime who go on crazy adventures together" type.

I drink too much coffee in the morning, and occasionally too much beer or wine in the evening. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My wife traveled the world on it and I love how much it helped her do that. We're excited to host and also use it with our future travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of fantasy and scifi!

Also interesting books about being open.

Pema Chodran, "When things fall apart"
Rene Brown, "Daring Greatly"
Patsy Rodenburg, "The second Circle"

I read philosophy when I'm up to a challenge, I like obscure stuff, like "Essays" by Montaigne or Elizabith of Bohemia's letters to Descartes

I read plays all the time; either for projects I'm working on or just to expand my repertoire.

And lastly, books on acting. My acting bible is the Atlantic school's "A Practical Handbook for the Actor".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've toured around the whole US with a theater production for 4 months. I've now hung out in all the popular cities I grew up hearing about, and performed in front of giant houses five days a week. It was an exhilarating and grueling four months that pivoted my perspective with what I want to do with my acting career.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach acting! If your interested in the finer points, I'm your man.

If you want to know more about philosophy, I know the cannon and the basics really well, and am specialized in a couple areas.

I've been all around the US. Grew up in the woods and farms in the Pacific Northwest, I live in NY on the East coast, and I've traveled all around the Midwest and deep south.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a musician and actor. If you got an extra instrument, I'm happy to jam along! I'm also a philosopher and actor who loves to sit with a beer and pontificate the unanswerable questions in the world and talk about how it makes us feel.
