About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Don't take life too seriously: the world is a playground.
ABOUT ME
I'm a friendly person and love meeting people! I love living in different places - soaking up the culture and language, before moving onto another place. I could spend my life doing that but I'd probably be poor as hell. I'm currently living in Paris, before that lived in Barcelona... then before that London...
PS: I HATE BREXIT! Sorry had to get that off my chest.
In my everyday life I do journalism and news producing. It's stressful as hell but never boring. I work with lots of assholes but hey. I'm also learning professional photography, but unfortunately I suck so if anyone could teach me how to take better photos, I would appreciate it.
When I have free time, I like to journey to places where 'news' is happening (the Syrian border, or Istanbul, one of my favourite cities on the planet) and do my own journalism. Sometimes this ends badly - like when riots break out and police arrest everyone - but shit happens.
I'm a big fan of staying in hostels to meet as many people as possible.
I love drinking with people and partying.
I play electric guitar.
I used to smoke but I recently gave up... but I don't care if people smoke around me (ok, well, I tried to give up... I smoke whenever I'm near alcohol)...
PHILOSOPHY
Don't take life too seriously otherwise you won't enjoy it!
Bite my shiny metal ass (Ok, that's Bender's philosophy, but he's awesome)
Always look on the bright side of life
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting people, practice new languages, share cultures, have a good time, make new friends.
Music, Movies, and Books
Catch 22 is the best book ever written. I love stuff by Hemingway. Oscar Wilde. Jonathan Swift. I studied English literature so yes, I know, this section should really be more 'complete'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Covered the Gezi Park protest in Istanbul that was followed by rioting. Got arrested and accused of being a terrorist but eventually got released even though I had no ID...
Sunrise in southern Turkey after climbing a cliff face drunk at 4am. The coolest / scariest / trippiest thing was hearing the dawn call to prayer ringing out in the massive valley below me (it was in Hatay in southern Turkey). That was awesome. You could hear the sounds echoing all around me, making for one hell of a sound.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can talk with you in French, Spanish or Turkish if you're interested in learning those languages (or English if you don't already speak it). I can show you my (limited) photography skills. I can cook English dessert for you! I can share my stories with you.
