Overview
About Me
Grew up in South Jersey/Philadelphia and went to college in Vermont. I enjoy plants, cooking, biking, skiing, and learning new languages and cultures. I could say I unicycle, but I haven't done much in the last year. I love cooking for and with other people and experiencing new foods. Of course I like to travel, why else would I be on Couchsurfer?
I consider myself part Sierra Leonean; it's a complicated story. Also, I'm not learning Creole... I'm learning/remembering Krio, but the language is not listed. That's the closest I can get.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am going to Milan soon and thought I would give it a try. I'm also going to be in Berlin for the next year, so I might be hosting... who knows.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a fan of klezmer, especially electronic klezmer like VeUhavtu Meilech Kohn. But really, I listen to whatever is on the radio. I could say, alternative and indie, but that's mostly pop now a days. I like Matt& Kim, Imagine Dragons, Florence and the Machine, Alle Farben, Renaissance.
I am a big fan of Game of Thrones, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Ozarks, Stranger Things, West World...
I like dumb scary movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went on a solo backpacking trip through Northern Italy in the Zillertal Alps. I was dumb and couldn't find the hut for the night, so I circled back, thinking that I may have passed the hut. After an hour of retracing my steps, I realized there's no way I could have missed it. I started hiking around aimlessly at night trying to find somebody. Eventually I stumbled upon a barn filled with cows and luckily an elderly couple who let me stay with them for the night. I slept the night on a pile of hay above the cows and I slept 13 hours. Although I was nervous for a bit, it ended up being a great unforgettable experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to share cooking styles from around the world. I grew up with Sierra Leonean, Lebanese and Jewish cooking, which has left me with an eclectic cooking style to say the least. I also like to share my culture and learn about others. I can spend hours discussing similarities in languages, growing-up, foods.
