CURRENT MISSION
Searching out who I am and where life leads
ABOUT ME
I am a recent college grad from the Midwest. I am trying to find where I fit, in a sense. I've recently been working on the west coast, but right now I'm volunteering, working part-time, and living in Indiana. Wherever I go, I love to experience the feeling and the community of the place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I am only a couch-surfer; unfortunately, I am not in a position to host anyone. However, I like the idea and would enjoy hosting when I have a more stable place of my own.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only been a couchsurfer once, but I hope to surf a little more, as well as host people when I have a more permanent place.
Interests
I enjoy baking when I have the chance... bread, cookies, pies, other desserts. I really enjoy working with my hands, in general, as well: I've had the chance to learn a bit of carpentry skills recently, and I would like to re-learn piano or learn guitar with more time. I also thoroughly enjoy music - its nuances, the songs that get stuck in your head and work into the rhythms of daily life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been privileged to travel to Masaera, Tanzania twice in my last two years in college in order to help with an engineering project. We were welcomed by the people there and were able to experience their culture. The work and the trips have helped me appreciate challenges with foreign aid and connecting with communities overseas in a meaningful manner. I would welcome any opportunity to share about these trips or hear others' experiences of community and life abroad.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a civil engineering major, which essentially means I studied the analysis and design of structures that do not move (i.e. buildings, bridges, roads, dams, walls, sewers, etc). I have just enough knowledge to get me into trouble, and I love to share it if anyone is interested. However, I would love to learn and participate more in the actual construction of a building or its utilities.
