About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Discover and synergize respect for all life with an understanding and deliberate transcendence of human capabilities and desires
ABOUT ME
I am fun-loving, intensely curious, and interested in everything.
PHILOSOPHY
There is redemption in every moment. The amount of times I have been gripped by guilt and momentarily paralyzed are innumerable. But, the realization of the present, that there is the infinite opportunity for anything going forward liberates me and keeps me going onward.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed a few times and I am looking forward to being able to host some great people from far away places as well as continue to surf myself.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience, I didn't even know I was couch surfing- hitchhiking through Germany with my friend, he told me we were staying at friends' houses. Indeed we were, though I was not told they were friends from the FUTURE! I know that while most CS connections are ephemeral geographically-speaking, the moments shared and memories crafted endure. Couch surfing has only been positive so far.
Interests
Writing, jamming, producing, and of course listening (no, like "seriously listening") to music. I play piano mainly, but know what to do with a guitar or drum set. Hopefully I can put a Soundcloud link up here to my stuff soon.
Growing, cooking, and eating fresh, artful, veggie food. Since I love to eat, it seems natural to me that I love to cook, and since I love to cook, it also seems natural that I would love to cultivate. I have had great learning experiences growing veggies and herbs in both urban and rural settings, as well as propagating aloe vera across the world.
Tea. And tea snobbery. Loose leaves. Herbal can be nice, but I really am talking about traditional Japanese and Chinese teas. Gyokuro, Iron Goddess of Mercy, a nice shaded Oolong, love it. Coffee is amazing and more often "done right", but the perfect cup of tea can top it all for me.
Rock climbing, mainly bouldering, but I enjoy nice long top roping routes where you can really break into a sweat.
Biking! I am hoping to bike from Madison, WI to St. Louis, MO soon, and hopefully couch surf along the way! I enjoy biking fast or slow, mountain or road. Just being on a bike is so liberating.
Running, because this is what humans do best. No need for music or a watch, just shoes. Though sometimes I "gear up" too.
Basketball is that one team sport that I will play competitively. I don't really watch any sports though. Maybe a game or two a year.
I am really interested in urban exploring (e.g. Rust Belt Infrastructure), as well as camping/backpacking.
I have the capability to be interested in nearly anything. I am really interested in people that are super interested in something *seemingly* random.

Music, Movies, and Books
Current music favorites: Royal Canoe, Tycho, Soliloquists of Sound, Tauk, Erra
Recently read book I could recommend: Infinite Jest, Radical Honesty, The Kingkiller Chronicles
Movies: The Grand Budapest Hotel is a recent favorite. Just like books, Sci-Fi and Fantasy are usually well received :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At 2am I biked outside of Leipzig where a word-of-mouth dance party was going down in a forested grove. I got my groove on 'til the sun came up.
