About Me
Hello! I'm Andrew - a super fun Scottish boy with a love of alcohol, cheesecake, and travelling!
I recently did a quiz online to find out what gay tribe I am a part of, because this is important information to know, right? Truth be told I did the quiz 6 times until I got my desired tribe of twink. It kept telling me I was a daddy and I was very embarrassed. I think what I want to be is a wolf. It's all very confusing.
I also did a quiz to see who I should be voting for in the US election. I'm 98% similar to Bernie and 94% to Hillary. I think 4% is small enough to ignore feeling the bern and keep up my gay boy crush on Clinton.
But perhaps I should stop describing myself through pointless online quizzes!! So let me just introduce myself properly a little...
I recently moved to Canada to do my masters degree here. The first few months were hard and I was very homesick - but now I have such great friends and love it here! Although why is it snowing in April, whaaat! I spend most of my time studying and researching. Ok, I will drop the act. I spend most of my time on netflix. But I love my course - geography is pretty awesome! Back in Glasgow I was pretty involved in the queer community - I was on the committee of Glasgow Universty LGBTQ+ student's association, and I helped organise the first Free Pride, an alternative to the city's mainstream Pride event. I also worked for the gay bar The Polo Lounge and spent many, many, many nights drunk on the dancefloor.
I really enjoy meeting new people and making new connections. I also love eating pizza. So if I can meet someone new and eat a pizza with them then that's a very good day indeed!
I'm happy. I'm bubbly. I'm a bit weird. I'm terrible at accents but not afraid of trying. I'm proud to no longer be scared of swans.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I love the couchsurfing community and think it's such a kick-ass idea. When me and my best friend Julie first heard of couchsurfing we instantly made profiles and soon hosted our first couchsurfers! The first time was so exciting and we loved every minute of it. Since then me and Julie travelled together around the USA, and we had the pleasure of staying with many great hosts who we love so much.
Now that me and my best friend are living on different continents I need some new couchsurfing friends to temporarily fill the Julie void!
I'm on here to open up my couch to all you lovely people who may want to be visiting the area. (Although at the moment I am back home for summer in Glasgow so can't currently host - back in September!) Also to hopefully find some more super nice hosts whenever I hopefully find time to travel more again!
Interests
I could write a very long list, but i think I could actually probably sum everything up in just three words - everything queer related!
I love not being the smartest person in the room, and also love being an absolute nosey gossip, so I'm interested in learning from and listening to new friend's experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books
Musically I love Madonna, MIA, Little Boots, Madonna, Santigold, Grimes, Penguin Prison, OMAM, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Beyonce... My iPod is essentially one big gay club with a small alternative club in the basement
My favourite movie is Cloud Atlas, and my favourite book is The Picture of Dorian Gray. I haven't read many books and wish this was different.
My favourite TV shows are House of Cards, OITNB, GoT, How to get away with murder, Ugly Betty, The Comeback, Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City.
I'm a sucker for a good murder mystery!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Me and Julie skinny dipped in a lake in Alabama during a storm. We felt pretty bad ass.
