About Me
I'm new to Couchsuring the app, not the act itself.
I'm originally from outside of San Francisco, though have spent the past seven plus years in Washington, D.C. That wonderful chapter has come to an end, and I am stepping back from work for a period to experience life in different ways and at a different pace while conditions allow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's preferable to staying in a non-descript single motel room. And I find it refreshing to connect with others who are willing to open up their space and share their time in this generous way.
*I've hosted through a similar site called Warmshowers, a hosting service for bikepackers
Interests
There are so many interesting things. Some intersts include anything outdoors (biking, hiking, backpacking), art, music, meditation and buddhist practice, and traveling "off the beaten trail".

- buddhism and meditation
Music, Movies, and Books
Punk, Jazz, and Reggae in that order.
I read mostly non-fiction and watch mostly sports and documentaries but not exclusive.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Served 2 years in the Peace Corps in the Phillipines and learned to speak Tagalog (that was over 10 years ago).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can provide some meditation instrucions, or guide meditation, and share a bit about my understanding of buddhist tradition and practice. Also, I can speak to working at the Environmental Protection Agency, from it's role in protecting public health and the environment to it's structure to policy and politics.
