About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world and make music for friends every step of the way.

ABOUT ME

I just graduated from the University of California, Berkeley as the first person in my family to get a college degree and I'm taking the opportunity to celebrate by seeing the world! I don't come from much so I don't take people's generosity for granted. I enjoy seeking out new music, almost constantly, and would love to hear about your favorite musics. In fact, I would love to even spend an evening (or two!) where we just share music! Before leaving the states I completed a research project on 3D sound and am really excited about the potentials of it and could talk about it at length. I used to be a film buff when I lived in a small town in Ohio where there was nothing else to do. Since moving to California nearly 6 years I've been out of touch.

PHILOSOPHY

Pay attention.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I've been hosting people and when I'm ready I am excited to take advantage of the capabilities of this site and travel!!! I'll be floating around Europe all summer and need some couches here and there. If you can offer yours or recommend someone else's I would appreciate it so deeply and happily repay the favor in California.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't surfed but all the people I have hosted have been absolutely wonderful!

Music:
Well, since I'm in Berlin right now it's TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO
However I listen to as much new music as I can possibly ingest, which is why I'm listening to Techno while I'm in Berlin; learning about a new genre is fun!

Books:
I just learned this year that I have a reading comprehension disability, which explains why I was never really able to focus while reading. So, I've learned that I need to "read" audiobooks to really be able to solidify the information. That said, prior to this knowledge I mostly read metaphysical, philosophical, or self-help books. Never really been one for fiction and I think it's simply because I can't keep track of the characters because of my disability.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am the first in my family to graduate from university and I graduated with honors from the top public university in the world; The University of California, Berkeley, getting published 5 times along the way!

Teach, Learn, Share

Music theory, music production, Ableton, a little Max MSP, music history, reading/writing sheet music, guitar, piano, ambisonics, audio engineering, recording.
I obviously have more skills than this but music is definitely what I know the most about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My delightful and fun presence! I love cooking, talking about technology and futurism, art, and music! Hooray for culture! While I haven't used this site to travel yet, I know what it's like having an extra person living in your space for free, so I will make a concerted effort to demonstrate my appreciation.
