About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning not to care about things which don't matter.

ABOUT ME

Please read my reviews. They describe me minus by bad bits.

PHILOSOPHY

To do everything I can to understand this world better and to make a positive impact with my life. And to enjoy this place along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host when I can. I surf myself when it's practical. I also tell lots of other people how good couchsurfing is and how they should participate too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A large chunk of my couchsurfing experience came when I traveled from China to the UK overland. I surfed in China, Kazakhstan, Russia and Estonia, staying with journalists, soldiers, academics and more.

I've also hosted in Manchester, Beijing and Chongqing, receiving guests from China,South Africa, US, Austria, Germany and more.

Interests

Language, politics, music, anthropology, dark humour, culture, food, people generally, sports, dreams, the weather, cities, wellbeing, cycling, the great outdoors. So many things, but especially who we are and why we are.

Music, Movies, and Books

I guess I most like movies that take you away from the mundanity of day to day life and focus on the beauty of the world.

As for music I like a wide range of genres and clever lyrics and nice sounds both charm me.

Books - I wish I could find time to read more. Whenever I finish a good novel, my immediate response is "Why don't you do this all of the time?"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling and encountering people, experiences, places all of which left big impressions on me, which I couldn't have predicted.

Teach, Learn, Share

The English language first of all. But aside from that I have fairly decent Mandarin Chinese so I could help you with that too. Aside from that cooking some nice dishes or discussing life philosophies and how we arrived at those.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Latvia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Viet Nam, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In
