After several years back in my hometown of London, I've returned to work in Japan, maybe forever! I've been living just outside Tokyo almost two years so far, and love teaching English (which is lucky, as it's what most foreigners do here :o)

I love sharing experiences with fellow travellers, trying to find myself in the moment when I'm in a beautiful place, and getting outdoors to climb mountains and swim in the ocean.

I've got an overactive imagination, a degree in philosophy, and an interest in history, Buddhism, post-environmentalism, and the car-crash that is modern global politics. Most of all though, I love cooking and eating food!

I've traveled for years and loved meeting interesting people all over the world, so I like the idea of hanging out with a local to experience a slice of life in that place, and would host if guests don't mind a compact space!

Intereses

Playing music has always been my first love, right next to travelling and hiking. I'm a bit shy about it though, so can't promise a big performance unless you get me drunk and we go to karaoke :o)

Although I've always been the geeky intellectual type, these days I'm much more interested in mindfulness and life experience as a way of finding answers to the big questions. If you want to know my main interest, it's talking all night until all the mysteries of the universe have been solved (what? that doesn't sound fun?!).

My greatest adventures have probably been on long distance hikes in the US, including walking 450 miles of the Appalachian trail and on the Pacific Crest Trail. I've seen moonlike landscapes, swam in crystal-clear lakes at 10000 feet, and even - sort of - been charged at by a bear!

I can offer my endless excitement about how much I love travel, and Japan in particular. I also love sharing ideas on all kinds of subjects, and can tell you about my recent adventures, life in London, or even lecture you in philosophy - if you really want that ;o)
