About Me

I am born and bred South African that is still passionate about his country and particularly that part that he lives in.

I have studied towards my tourguide qualification because I love showing people the off the track places and people not ordinarily found by tourists.

I have a partner who enjoys my lifestyle and we enjoy getting out of the city when we can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I remember when I was travelling overseas and craved to be embedded in the local culture and way of life but had no way in. I hope that I can through couchsurfing help travellers in my part of the world have a wonderful local experience and leave with a good impression of the country and its people.

I have rented out a flatlet on my property to American Missionaries and enjoyed seeing them experience their first wild Elephant in our local game park when I took them there.

I love meeting people and really enjoyed hosting some 10 different nationalities when we hosted the World Soccer cup in 2010. As a sociable person I love leaning about the world through people and am always interested in seeing how different yet the same we are.

I have bungee jumped off the highest bungee in Africa - Blaaukrantz Bridge

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach travellers about the history of this country and take them to unknown sites and places.

I am also conversant in Xhosa - the indigenous language and would be happy to introduce people to my Xhosa friends and their culture so that they could learn a bit about South Africa's diverse people

I would love to share my knowledge about my region and my network that could benefit the traveller moving from town to town. All this over a traditional braai (fire) inthe evening swapping stories of life.
