Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think that CouchSurfing has a beautiful philosophy. It maintains a balance of karma between travelers and hosts, in such a way that hospitality isn't paid back, it's paid forward.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My husband also has a CS account, and we've had a bunch of surfers come stay with us in our house.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing travel experience I've had in my lifetime was our honeymoon in Vanuatu, an island paradise in the South Pacific. We went wandering through the rainforest with a GPS and a topographic map, and encountered indigenous tribes, volcanoes, cannibals, pigeon languages, cargo cults, kava roots, and just the friendliest people I've ever met. They live in a communal society without money or personal property, so guests are welcomed as members of the village and no one ever thought of asking us for money in exchange for food or a place to sleep. We were honored to participate in their gift-giving ritual, in which everybody contributes something to a communal pool and receives a gift in return.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to talk about object-oriented software design, Sufi spiritual philosophy, or whatever you're into, that's great!
