About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeing the world, one city at a time!

ABOUT ME

After 20-some years of life I've figured out a few things about myself:

1. I drink tea like it's my job and I'm getting paid for it.
2. I love to joke and laugh it up with everyone I meet.
3. Decisions creep up on me and I usually decide at the last possible moment (this happens most in restaurants).
4. I always listen to music that others recommend to me. And I'll probably find something good in it.
5. I love to cook and can cook most things that don't have pasta or rice involved.
6. I'm good at lifting heavy things so if you need to move a bed, couch, dresser, or whatever, I'm your man!

PHILOSOPHY

I live for seeing as much as I can, meeting as many people as I can, and doing something positive for the world in the end of it all!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to cook, send out positive vibes, drink a fine (or dirt cheap) wine, trade favorite music, give lots of compliments, and am very good at tidying/keeping clean.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have none so far, but I'm really excited at the idea of couchsurfing. Whether hosting or crashing on someone's couch, I like that it's a worldwide community of people interested in meeting each other and having new experiences!

Interests

Seeing new places, listening to all kinds of music, meeting new people and trading stories, running/exercising, good beer, learning about the world/science/politics and other peoples' philosophies on life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Gorillaz, Neutral Milk Hotel, Beirut, Kendrick Lamar, Otis Redding, Kanye, Jay Z, Grimes, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Queens of the Stone Age, The Roots.

Books: Anything by Salman Rushdie or Christopher Hitchens, Science fiction, Political/Economic writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The desert in Joshua Tree, California is a place with like no other. Alien plants and cacti populate every other step. Huge, spongy rock formations rise all around you, inviting you to climb them. Little cute desert mice and jackrabbits scurry around when they hear you coming. It is completely silent at night, and you can see every single star in the sky. The moon casts almost as strong a shadow at night as the Sun. It is simply magical.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook meats/seafood quite well (not very good at carb dishes though). Any kind of music makes me a happy person - rock, bluegrass, hip hop, electronic, metal, folk.

I'm most interested in learning what it's like to live in each place I visit. Although more 'touristy' attractions interest me for their history and contributions to local culture, I love to find out what life is like for the folks that live there every day.
