About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning more about the world and people around me.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Kiev, Ukraine and I've been living there for all my life. I've been on exchange at the University of Groningen (Netherlands) and since then I fell in love with the Netherlands, so I decided to move here for my Master's degree.

Since my childhood, I was travelling a lot with my parents, however, now, that I've entered an adulthood, I would like to experience the world on my own and compare places, that vision of the places I have visited as a kid with my current vision.

I am obsessively curious, and believe that intelligence should not be confined to a specific field but rather challenged in every way possible. Currently, I focus on artificial intelligence, however, I would like only this part of my life to be artificial. As much as I'm into science, I'm also into meeting new people and learning more about their views of this world. For me, nothing can be better than a nice, honest and soulful talk.

Also, my two other passions are music (I have been singing in a choir for 10 years and still sing a lot) and coffee (whenever I go to a new city - I would find the best coffee place and sit there for a while, just to enjoy a cup of good coffee).

PHILOSOPHY

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." - Lao Tzu

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is something that has always been accompanying me since I was a kid, therefore, I have listened to almost every genre and can find something I like in each of those. Lately, I have mostly been listening to hip-hop and hardcore rap.

Not a huge movie fan, but there are several movies, that I have watched multiple times and can watch even more: Clerks, Inception, Amores Perros, Black Swan, American Psycho, Hotel Grand Budapest. Right now I am going over the whole filmography of Kubrick (I'm still halfway through though).

My parents have collected a huge library at home, so I have been reading quite a lot since I was in elementary. So far my favourite books are: "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand and "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut.
Also, I have multiple authors I really like: John Steinbeck, Erich Maria Remarque, Ayn Rand, Kurt Vonnegut, Mikhail Bulgakov, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
