About Me

CURRENT MISSION
to live authentically and trust life

ABOUT ME
I am constantly learning about myself, others and the world...
the fact that we people are all so different and yet so much alike in our core humanness always amazes me. meeting people from all over the world during study or training programs, while traveling and during my current stay in Berlin has been a wonderful privilege I am grateful for.

PHILOSOPHY
more of a wish: to stay open to whatever comes my way, without judging, rejecting or clinging to it. it's hard, but so rewarding when it happens - is freedom :)
I believe in the silent but fearless power of love and kindness. probably that's why I tend to see (and search for) the good in people. it is always there, even if hidden under layers and layers of dirt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like that CS breaks the usual pattern of travel and tourism and brings people together through their mutual interests and their wish for a personal exchange.

Interests

(not necessarily in the order of preference)

people and animals of the world :)

arts and culture as a way to express our unique creativity and to communicate in the world. I love photography, movies, soundtracks and music of different kinds.
I like to listen to classical music in the kitchen while cooking or eating, helps me disconnect from thoughts that don't have much to do with food.
love books although I haven't read literature in a while now... Gabriel Garcia Marquez , Haruki Murakami are some of my favorite authors.

handmade - crocheting and knitting, sewing, creating new things from old stuff

Vipassana meditation. the wise teachings of Adyashanti, Eckhart Tolle, Gangaji...

cooking and baking for and with friends and anyone who appreciates experiments in the kitchen :) I also love to try new tastes and dishes I haven't heard about before (unless they are not too spicy). love poppy seeds cake, red wine once in a while...

swimming, tango, yoga, tai chi - whenever these happen...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(this question makes me think about the Walter Mitty movie)

I didn't swim with the dolphins yet, but I am grateful for all the little things that remind me on a regular basis (whenever I have eyes to see and ears to hear) how wonderful life is :)

Teach, Learn, Share

we often put our hope in the future to reach happiness, fulfillment or whatever it is that we want. but what if THIS, what happens NOW in each moment, is "as good as it gets"? (love Jack Nicholson in that movie by the way)

spirituality (meditation, satsang talks, self-inquiry...) has helped me a lot for the past couple of years to get new perspectives and understandings about life and my own being. it's like traveling inside yourself, a never ending journey :)
