About Me

I love traveling and meeting new people (as probably everyone on CS). I get bored easily, so I always yearn for new adventures and want to be on the move. Aaand I also like to laugh a lot and believe in keeping the inner child alive. ;)
People usually expect me to speak a trillion languages because I studied conference interpreting, but nope - my English is pretty good, if I do say so myself, but unfortunately my French was never really fluent (I can understand a lot, but I struggle with speaking it) and on top of that I "only" started learning Spanish (which I forgot most of) and Swedish. The latter is something I would love to pursue in the future though, as I love the language and Sweden as a country. :) Just please don't expect me to greet you in 23 different languages - and yes, I can still be a great interpreter. ;)

What I really can't stand, not for the life of me, is intolerance, injustice and people with old-fashioned, conservative mindsets - probably because I grew up in a tiny village and people there judge you by how frequently you mow the lawn (I'm not even joking, though I wish I was). That's why I try to live by two simple rules: One, if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all. Two, don't judge a book by its cover - we all go through hard stuff and you never know what someone else might be struggling with, so don't be prejudiced against people you know nothing about. That's something I strive to internalise and I always try to keep an open mindset.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I would like to meet new people and explore beautiful destinations - combining the two is just all the more fun, if you ask me. Also, how beautiful is the idea of making new friends all around the world and really getting to know the inhabitants of a country when travelling? I'm sometimes wary when it comes to the internet, but damn, that really is magical.

Interests

Reading books, having interesting conversations, watching TV shows (who doesn't love Netflix), exploring new countries and/ or cities, journalling, playing board games, drawing, dancing, learning about myself and just generally about new stuff

Music, Movies, and Books

I usually hate that part where people judge you by your taste in music, books and movies... But here goes.

Music I love: Mumford and Sons, Ed Sheeran, The Kooks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Justin Timberlake, John Butler, Coldplay - a bit of anything and everything really. It varies from day to day and depends on the mood I'm in.

Best movie I've watched in a while: American Beauty, Philadelphia, Harry Potter (obviously). I also LOVE any kind of dance movie (e. g. Step Up, Fame, Save The Last Dance, Full Out... You name it, I'm totally down for it.)

Best book I've read in a while: One Flew Over The Kuckoo's Nest, The Pillars Of The Earth + World Without End, The Letter For The King, Zorro, Harry Potter
