About Me

I grew up on the Atlantic coast of Canada in a big family (i'm the middle of 7!). We regularly hosted exchange students (rotary, etc) and I loved getting to know short and long term visitors. I moved to Boston USA for university and travelled around Latin America, East Africa & Germany (I studied French and German in school and learned Spanish in El Salvador).
For eight years, I have been living in New Orleans, Louisiana. I'm a member of a community art collective where I make screenprinted (serigraphy) posters, tshirts, etc. as well as develop black & white photography. I'm also a musician and a poet and I am good with my hands and help fix up homes (carpentry, plumbing, etc.).
I love stories and languages, cooking/food (i am vegan) and music. I love sharing & learning from others. I can be funny, but also appreciate deep conversations. I am easy to satisfy, I can sleep almost anywhere and am good at taking care of the spaces I am invited.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in giving and receiving when it is possible to do so. I often have visitors (friends, family, friends of friends/family) stay with me in New Orleans and I like being able to offer my home and perspectives to others. I care a lot about local communities and I like to learn from people who spend time creating healthy spaces in their communities. I believe dialogue and fresh perspectives are what help people become more compassionate and better caretakers of the earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been vegan for most of my life and have learned a lot about cooking and love sharing my skills in the kitchen. I also like sharing anything about music--playing or listening.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like getting to know people and how their experiences have shaped their perspectives. I am a good conversationalist and am easy to share space with. I am a songwriter and can guitar and piano and love sharing songs with others. I am also good at using and cleaning up the kitchen, haha.
